Interior decor supplier Esselle Retail has acquired British-made window dressings and soft furnishings brand Belfield Home, saying it "seeks to build on the brand’s legacy while enhancing its trade partnerships and expanding its made-to-measure product offering".
In November, former owner The Belfield Group, which owns upholstery brands Tetrad and Westbridge, announced a review of headcount within the Belfield Leisure business, "ensuring resource is aligned appropriately for the forecast demand in 2025", and says that it proposed to exit the soft furnishing market, with an expected wind-down of operations at the Belfield Home business by 31st January.
Belfield Home has long been known for its curtains, blinds, and soft furnishings, supplying retailers, interior designers and trade professionals across the UK. Essselle Retail operates furnishings brands including Arthouse, Esselle Home and ASW.
“As a business deeply invested in home interiors, we see tremendous potential in Belfield Home,” says Suraj Lalvani, CEO of Esselle Retail. “We are committed to strengthening relationships with trade customers, enhancing service levels, and ensuring that Belfield Home continues to deliver the high-quality, British-made window solutions that professionals rely on.”
Esselle Retail says trade customers can expect "a smooth transition, with no disruption to current operations", and that it will be reaching out to trade partners to gather feedback on how it can better serve the industry.
“We want to work closely with our trade customers to understand their needs and provide the best possible product and service solutions,” adds Alan Jamieson, head of sales. “This is an exciting opportunity to build a stronger, more dynamic Belfield Home.”
