Handmade bed specialist Get Laid Beds has announced the planting of 100,000 trees across Africa, and says that this milestone, reached with the support of its customers, marks a significant step forward in the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and corporate social responsibility.
The initiative, conducted in partnership with the International Tree Foundation (ITF), seeks to address critical environmental and economic challenges in the region. The ITF strives to ensure that each tree planted brings maximum benefits to both communities and the planet.
As part of the celebrations for this achievement, Get Laid Beds is donating a bed to the Royal British Legion, the largest Armed Forces charity, which has 180,000 members. The donated bed frame will be used in a RBL charity raffle, with the funds generated being used by the organisation to provide support for veterans.
Scott Shields, CEO of Get Laid Beds, says: "GLB's commitment to sustainability is core to our business. Planting 100,000 trees in Africa, through our decade-long partnership with the International Tree Foundation, demonstrates our dedication to environmental conservation.
“This milestone reflects our ongoing effort to create a positive environmental impact across continents. As a company using Earth's resources, we're committed to environmental stewardship.
“Planting 100,000 trees is just the start. We invite our global customers to join our sustainability journey, turning every new beautiful bed in their home into an opportunity to nurture our planet and give back. Together, we're striving for a more sustainable future."
