IKEA has opened its new Plan and Order Point in Aberdeen’s Union Square, marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by its team of 16 members of staff and Jack Middleton, MSP for Aberdeen Central.
The store offers bespoke planning services, Click and Collect, returns and a range of 600 home furnishing accessories and small furniture items for immediate takeaway.
Kevin Coventry, market manager at IKEA, says: “It was fantastic to open the doors of our brand-new Plan and Order Point in Aberdeen this morning, and to welcome our first customers inside. Our new store is designed to inspire, offering customers the opportunity to explore our range of kitchen and storage solutions with options available for every household and budget. Now that we’ve launched, we can’t wait to help more Aberdonians design their dream home spaces.”
Douglas Lumsden, MP for Aberdeen South, comments: “I am delighted to welcome IKEA’s new Plan and Order Point in the city centre. It is fantastic to see a global brand like IKEA strengthening its presence in Aberdeen, and the new location will hopefully allow more people to access their products while bringing wider benefits to our local economy."
Jack Middleton, MSP for Aberdeen Central, adds: “It's great to see IKEA's new Plan and Order Point opening in Union Square. The investment in Aberdeen, in the new city centre location, is really welcome. Aberdeen is a great place to live, work, and do business, and IKEA's continued presence really emphasises that.”
IKEA closed its Aberdeen Order and Collection Point in Wellington Square on 1st March as the retailer transitioned to its new planning-led format in Aberdeen city centre. The store complements existing IKEA stores in Edinburgh and Glasgow, a recently opened Plan and Order Point in Dundee, and in-home planning services available throughout the Inverness area.
