MattressNextDay has appointed retail buyer Kim Scriven as its new buying and merchandising manager, as the business builds on a series of recent milestones and invests in the continued growth of its product offer.
Kim joins MattressNextDay with more than a decade of buying, category management and commercial experience across retail and consumer brands including House of Fraser, House UK and Smiley Company.
Most recently, Kim spent almost four years at Smiley Company, progressing from category manager for home and lifestyle to partnership strategy manager for lifestyle and consumer products. Prior to this, she spent almost four years as a buyer at House UK and held several buying positions at House of Fraser, where her categories included filled bedding, bath, kitchen, electrical, dining, luggage and travel.
Her appointment marks the latest development for online mattress retailer MattressNextDay following a busy period of growth and investment in its customer offering.
Earlier this year, the bed and mattress retailer reached a major sustainability milestone after recycling its 100,000th mattress. More recently, MattressNextDay launched its Lowest Price Promise, guaranteeing customers the lowest price across thousands of products from major sleep brands.
The business has also been named the National Bed Federation’s Online Bed Retailer of the Year for the last three consecutive years (2023-25).
In her new role, Kim will work across the business to shape MattressNextDay’s buying and merchandising strategy, manage growth across its product ranges and strengthen supplier relationships, with a continued focus on delivering greater choice and value for customers.
She says: “I am incredibly excited to be joining MattressNextDay as buying and merchandising manager. I look forward to applying my knowledge, commercial understanding and retail experience to contribute positively to an already well-established and successful business.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know the wonderful team, sharing my experience and ideas, and making a positive contribution wherever I can. I’m excited for the journey ahead and to play a part in building on the success of the business and supporting its future growth.”
Martin Seeley, CEO of MattressNextDay, adds: “Kim joins us at an exciting time for MattressNextDay. We’ve continued to invest in what matters to our customers, whether that’s giving them greater confidence on price through our Lowest Price Promise, expanding the choice available to them or making it easier to dispose of an old mattress responsibly.
“Recycling our 100,000th mattress was a particularly proud milestone for us, but we’re always looking at what comes next. Kim brings a huge amount of experience across buying, merchandising, home and lifestyle, and she’ll play an important role in how we develop our product offering from here.”
