The National Bed Federation (NBF) has announced that Fara Butt stepped down as president on 11th September 2026. Dreams' production director and NBF VP of manufacturing, Matt Richardson, has taken the role of acting president with immediate effect to ensure a smooth transition and continued representation and support for NBF members.
“Matt has a wealth of experience in the bed manufacturing sector and is passionate about the values of the NBF and representing the interests of the membership,” says NBF executive director, Tristine Hargreaves. “We welcome Matt into the role of acting president and look forward to working together to deliver the NBF strategy and continued support for the NBF members.”
Matt says: “It is a privilege to take on the role as acting president and provide continuity for the NBF. My priority will be to ensure that the interests of our members continue to be represented, and I look forward to working with the NBF team, board and wider membership to support the industry and deliver on the federation’s strategy.”
Fara comments: “It has been a great privilege and honour to serve the industry in this capacity. The decision has not been taken lightly, but as Shire Beds focuses on its new strategic developments, I feel it is important to dedicate my full attention to leading the business through its next chapter. I look forward to continuing to support the federation and the wider manufacturing industry.”
