Manufacturer and retailer of contemporary furniture, lighting, textiles and accessories SCP will be moving to a new showroom and HQ on Clerkenwell Green this spring.
The brand says the relocation from Shoreditch, SCP’s home for 40 years, is arguably the most significant move in the history of the company, and "repositions SCP in the middle of a district that has established itself as the epicentre of London’s design industry, particularly for furniture specification".
Founder and CEO Sheridan Coakley says: "I’ve enjoyed being part of a creative scene of artists and designers who came to Shoreditch in the 1980s and helped transform it from a post-industrial landscape to the modern mixed-use creative district it has become. I now look forward to pioneering something new in one of the most beautiful areas of London, Clerkenwell."
The newly refurbished showroom, designed by by Nice Projects, is in a townhouse on Clerkenwell Green, a pedestrianised square close to Farringdon Station. SCP hopes customers will find Clerkenwell as easily accessible as Shoreditch, and will continue to offer a busy calendar of public-facing events, from regular evening openings to seasonal weekend activations.
