Bed and mattress manufacturer Sleepeezee has raised over £30,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in support of research into heart health and wellbeing.
For each Travelodge Dreamer mattress sold, Sleepeezee donates £20 to the heart charity, making a significant commitment to advancing research into cardiovascular health and raising awareness of the impact sleep can have on overall health.
“Sleepeezee has always been committed to enhancing sleep health, and we know just how important quality rest is for overall wellbeing,” says Sleepeezee's marketing director, Amy Curtis. “By supporting the British Heart Foundation, we’re helping fund life-saving research and raising awareness of the essential role sleep plays in maintaining a healthy living.”
Emily McGrath, senior cardiac nurse at BHF, comments: “Sleep plays a vital role in maintaining heart health. Getting enough is also important for our general wellbeing, and most adults should aim for seven to nine hours of sleep per night.
“But sleep isn’t the only factor that can impact heart health. It’s also important to look at your lifestyle as a whole, as knowing your blood pressure and cholesterol levels, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly, cutting down on salt and alcohol intake, and eating a balanced diet can also help to keep your heart healthy.”
The British Heart Foundation were presented with the cheque when they visited the Kent-based factory last week by Amy and MD Steve Warren (pictured).
On the same day, members of the Sleepeezee team received CPR training using the BHF’s RevivR tool.
Sleepeezee has been supporting BHF since 2017 and has donated around £200,000 to the charity so far.
