The Conran Shop has opened a new showroom in London. Located on Baltic Street in Clerkenwell, the new site showcases the brand’s furniture, lighting and lifestyle collections by its in-house design function TCS Studio, with a spotlight on its bestselling designs and new season launches.
Set up to run by appointment only, the new showroom will act as the hub for the brand’s growing B2B operations in the UK and globally, welcoming trade and wholesale clients to view its product catalogue.
The brand states that, following the opening of its London flagship store on Sloane Square last September, the launch of a new London showroom reaffirms its "dedication to distinguished design and revived focus on creating a product offering in line with its late founder, Sir Terence Conran’s legacy and vision to make exceedingly unique designs".
A significant feature at the brand’s new showroom is its award-winning design collection, including the Delta Chair, Fold and Arbor sofa collections and Flo lamp, which are showcased on podiums on wheels throughout the space to facilitate a flexible environment where product can be moved around to suit each client’s needs.
Mark Upstone, head of creative at The Conran Shop, says: "We wanted to create a versatile showspace that could be curated for each client who visits, whether that be an interior designer, architect, stylist or new wholesale partner. By adding digital screens to the interior scheme, we are able to present a layered experience to the client by weaving in deeper storytelling around the brand, product, our designers and the processes, techniques and materials used to design our collections."
The Conran Shop showroom will be updated on a regular basis with new season launches and key product drops throughout the year. It will also be used to host events for the brand’s trade, wholesale and VIP clientele.
The showroom sits within the same building as the brand’s new head office in Clerkenwell, which moved from Marylebone in April this year.
