The Cotswold Company has officially opened its 13th showroom, in Knutsford.
Founded in 1996 in the heart of the Cotswolds, The Cotswold Company sells furniture and accessories through a digital-led omnichannel model, working with specialist manufacturers and employing traditional woodworking techniques.
The new showroom is the brand’s first branch in the North West, located in the Grade II-listed Union Bank building at 127 King Street. The site, which has been vacant and derelict for several years, has been transformed by The Cotswold Company, enhancing the local high street while preserving Knutsford’s architectural heritage.
The transformation was part of an extensive renovation project to carefully preserve and complement the building’s period features, including original fireplaces and wall panelling. This has created an immersive retail space where customers can experience the Cotswold Company’s bestselling ranges of furniture and home accessories, alongside a fully integrated Upholstery Hub.
Since opening, the showroom has seen strong footfall and sales with trading ahead of expectations, reflecting local consumer demand.
Ralph Tucker, CEO at The Cotswold Company, says: “We took the restoration process incredibly seriously and we’re proud to have created a space that reflects both the history and character of the local area as well as the quality craftmanship of our products. We are grateful for the support from local planning and the Knutsford retail community that has not only helped us add a new showroom in a strategically important location but also given a new lease of life to the high street which has resulted in strong footfalls and local demand.
"As we expand our UK retail footprint and realise our ambition to become of the UK’s leading premium furniture and homeware brands, exploring similar opportunities to revitalise characterful and charming sites that need a bit of affection will be an important area for us.”
