BFA to deliver "hands-on" health and safety seminar

The British Furniture Association (BFA) has partnered with Didac to deliver a hands-on health and safety seminar, hosted by Rochdale Occupational Health.

Bringing together expert-led presentations, live face-fit testing and legislative updates, the Behind the Mask seminar is tailored to specific risks faced by workers in the furniture industry.

Created for business owners and directors in furniture manufacturing, the session is also aimed at health and safety managers, HR managers with responsibility for workforce health and safety and anyone responsible for PPE provision or COSHH compliance.

BFA MD Phil Spademan says: “By partnering with Didac and ROHS, the BFA can provide its members with carefully curated health and safety training that is meaningful and relevant.

“Behind the Mask offers a combination of practical hands-on experience that is applicable in the workplace, with expert insight and technical detail that supports legislative compliance.”

The seminar will include workshops on hearing, respiratory risks, failure to fit and stress in the workplace, along with a session with PPE specialist JSP.

Open to BFA members and clients of ROHS, the Behind the Mask Health and Safety Day takes place at ROHS in Rochdale on Wednesday 30th September.

Helen Yates, GM at ROHS, states: “Events like Behind the Mask matter because they put people first.

“It's not just about ticking a legislative box, it's about giving employers the confidence and the practical tools to protect their workforce properly.

“We're proud to be working alongside the BFA and Didac to bring that expertise to the furniture industry.”
