Brussels Furniture Fair returns to Brussels Expo, Heysel from 8-11th November, and is inviting visitors to see the event not merely as a trade fair where new collections are presented, but as a complete professional ecosystem and an all-encompassing experience, under the strapline, ‘Enter the Decosystem – Your habitat reimagined’ …
“The term ‘decosystem’ refers to a vibrant environment where manufacturers, brands, retailers, interior specialists, designers and partners come together,” explains the show’s organiser. “Products naturally remain at the heart of the fair, but are presented within a broader context that brings together inspiration, encounters, innovation and commercial opportunities.”
Nature and the future
Nature is an important recurring theme within this story, the organiser continues: “It inspires the furniture sector in terms of materials, colours, shapes and textures, while also encouraging us to think more consciously about how furniture is designed, produced and (re)used. Today, the relationship between nature and interiors therefore extends far beyond aesthetics alone.
“For visitors, this means a more immersive and wide-ranging approach to interiors and interior design. They come not only to discover furniture, but are also invited to reflect on the evolution of living, new lifestyles, comfort, materials, sustainability and the ways in which indoor and outdoor spaces can be reimagined.
“We also look towards the future and those shaping it. Young designers and design students are given a special platform at our fair, known as Belgian Design Island. There, they present their work to interested buyers while connecting with experienced furniture manufacturers. This creates valuable cross-pollination and opens up new opportunities for collaboration, innovation and further development.”
Broadening range and reach
The product range presented at the fair has grown significantly in both scale and quality in recent years, says the show organiser, which adds that it has welcomed an increasing number of manufacturers and brands with a clear focus on quality and relevance to the professional market.
Since 2025, a new outdoor segment has also been added, responding to a growing focus on outdoor living and the increasingly blurred boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Building on this expansion, this year a dedicated area in Hall 9 is being reserved for the development of a new textile segment, where various suppliers of upholstery fabrics, bedding textiles and other textile solutions for interiors and home comfort will present a diverse product range.
“Alongside the continued expansion of our offering, we are also firmly committed to broadening the market reach available to our exhibitors,” says the fair organiser. “Furniture retailers and interior specialists remain our primary target audience, but we aim to extend the fair’s reach to professional buyers in sectors including hospitality, food service, contract furnishing and new-build projects.”
This broader focus does not represent a departure from the fair’s identity, but a natural extension of the existing ecosystem, it clarifies: “Hotels, restaurants, property developers and other professional clients are placing ever greater emphasis on furniture, comfort, appearance and the overall experience of a space. This creates valuable additional sales opportunities for our exhibitors in the contract and project markets.
“By connecting our existing offering more closely with segments such as outdoor living, contract business, hospitality and contract furnishing, we aim to strengthen both the fair’s commercial relevance and the opportunities available to exhibitors.”
