IFHS celebrates 10 years of progress

The Irish Furniture & Homewares Show (IFHS) has reached a significant milestone, marking 10 years of commitment to Ireland's furniture industry.

Held from August 25-27th at the National Indoor Arena in Dublin, this year's edition showcased IFHS' role as Ireland’s premier furniture trade event, reflecting "a decade of growth, innovation and industry leadership" states the show's organiser.

Over the past decade, the show has grown exponentially, both in size and stature. The IFHS has now evolved into an international affair, featuring exhibitors from across Ireland, the UK and Europe – and its organiser says the event's evolution mirrors the transformation of the furniture and homewares industry, which has seen a shift towards sustainable materials, innovative designs, and a renewed focus on quality craftsmanship.

"This year’s show exemplified its continued success, featuring a record-breaking +28% increase in attendance," states IFHS. "The event attracted a diverse audience, from independent retailers to large-scale buyers, and provided a valuable platform for showcasing the latest products and trends in furniture and homewares. Exhibitors reported substantial increases in sales and business inquiries, with many citing the show as their most profitable yet.

"The show was also notable for its 10th Anniversary Awards Night, celebrating the industry's top talents and achievements. Key awards included Best New European Product for Cofra’s innovative Table 02, Best New Global Product for Sealy's Posturepedic mattress, and Best Sustainable Initiative for Think Rugs."

The evening also honoured long-time exhibitors who have supported the IFHS since its inception, recognising their vital role in the show’s success.

Mark Gannon, event organiser, emphasised the significance of the milestone, reflecting on the show’s journey and its impact on the industry: "As the IFHS continues to grow, its commitment to innovation, sustainability and excellence remains steadfast. Exhibiting at the IFHS is more than just showcasing products – it’s an investment in the future of the Irish furniture sector."

With its record attendance, enhanced buyer engagement and rising sales, this year's IFHS was a testament to the strength and vitality of the Irish furniture and homewares industry, adds Mark: "As the show looks to the future, it remains a cornerstone of industry growth and a vital platform for business and collaboration."

Current and new exhibitors are already in the process of signing up for next year's event, taking place from 24-26th August at the National Indoor Arena.
