Bedkingdom, a furniture ecommerce retailer headquartered in Liversedge, West Yorkshire has launched the brand in Ireland.
The Irish website will stock 90% of Bedkingdom’s own-brand range of bedroom and home furniture products, and customers in the country will be able to shop without added duties and taxes, with free delivery on orders above €250.
Products will initially be shipped from the UK, while the brand establishes itself in Ireland. In the future, the team plans to expand operations and open a warehouse in the country to simplify shipping and facilitate next-day delivery options.
Bedkingdom has been working on this expansion for the past six months, and the Irish website launched in early September. It follows 54% YoY organic traffic growth for the UK brand.
COO Levon Hall (pictured) comments: “When we started looking at where to launch the business next, Ireland was the obvious choice because of its close proximity to the UK. We’ve done a lot of research, and Irish people tend to take a lot of pride in their homes, with a big culture of hospitality and bringing family together, which made it the perfect fit.
“There’s been a lot of hoops to jump through with preparing to enter a completely new market, especially post Brexit, which has added a layer of complication for retailers that want to ship products outside the UK.
“As well as our owned brands, we stock several ranges from other furniture manufacturers and suppliers, and hope to establish some partnerships with new suppliers that want to access the Irish market.”
Bedkingdom’s founder, Ashley Hainsworth, began selling mattresses online with an investment of £400 while studying at Huddersfield University, and now has three West Yorkshire warehouses and £28m revenue across the Flair Furniture Group. In 2023, it was listed in the Sunday Times Top 100 after achieving 76.06% average annual sales growth over three years, and placed 18th in the Ward Hadaway Yorkshire Fastest 50 in 2025.
Bedkingdom owns several furniture brands including Flair Beds, Flair Furnishings, Noomi, Recoil Gaming and SOLACE+CO, and curates a collection of boutique furniture brands from third-party suppliers.
