Delivery specialist joins Furniture Makers

Two-person delivery specialist AIT Home Delivery has joined The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, as a corporate member.

The membership marks a significant alignment between AIT Home Delivery’s "commitment to service excellence" and the company’s mission to support and champion the highest standards in the British furniture and furnishing industry.

Formerly known as Panther Logistics, AIT Home Delivery has spent nearly 15 years honing the final-mile experience for some of the UK’s most recognisable brands including Dunelm, Sky, Samsung, Bathroom Mountain and Sofa Club. Since its acquisition by global freight forwarder AIT Worldwide Logistics in 2020, the company has continued its rapid growth, enhancing its offer with new technology, expanded warehousing, and a low-emissions fleet.

AIT Home Delivery was formally welcomed as a corporate member on Tuesday 17th June. Andy Dale, commercial director home delivery global, and Sam Scott, sales director UK and Europe, were admitted as corporate liverymen during a ceremony at Furniture Makers’ Hall, London.

“Our decision to join The Furniture Makers’ Company is rooted in our deep alignment with the values of quality craftsmanship, service excellence, and industry collaboration,” says Andy. “Many of the businesses we support are part of the UK’s furniture manufacturing and retail sector, and we see our role as more than just a delivery provider – we form partnerships with our customers to ensure their reputation is not only maintained but enhanced.”

AIT’s recent milestones include the opening of a flagship 224,000 sqft depot in Swindon and the roll-out of 35 biofuel-powered vehicles, strengthening its sustainability credentials in the premium logistics space and grown its annual volumes to over 2.4 million deliveries. The company’s ambitions also extend internationally, with the launch of two-person delivery services in Germany and neighbouring European countries, and further investment in recycling and packaging return schemes to support circularity.

“Joining The Furniture Makers’ Company is a natural step for us,” Andy adds. “We’re proud to support many of the UK’s leading furniture brands and share the company’s values. We look forward to building meaningful partnerships and contributing to the continued growth and excellence of the sector.”

Debbie Johnson, master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, comments: “We are delighted to welcome AIT Home Delivery as a corporate member. Their commitment to excellence sustainability and partnership across the furniture sector strongly reflects our own values. We look forward to their active involvement in our initiatives as we continue to champion progress within the UK furnishing industry.”
