Ercol Furniture has announced the promotion of supply chain manager Sarah Sweeting to the newly created position of director of supply chain and customer services, as of 1st June 2026.
Sarah joined the business almost eight years ago, initially in a timber-purchasing role, bringing with her senior experience in supply chain roles for the likes of Toshiba. She has progressed throughout her time at Ercol, taking up the supply chain manager role three years ago. Ercol says the creation of this new role recognises the complexity of its supply chain and its significance for the successful performance of the company.
"We believe it will help us to continue to improve the service we provide to our customers, and in Sarah we have the right person to lead that area of the business," says Ercol.
"At the same time, Ian Peers’ role will change to that of manufacturing operations director, which will focus on our factory here at Princes Risborough. Ian has been with Ercol for over 20 years and has been instrumental in the recent success that the company has had in reaffirming the importance of UK manufacturing, and the launch of product made in British timber. The cornerstone of ercol is our factory, and a role aligned to that importance will continue to take us forward."
Sarah comments: “Stepping into the director role is both a privilege and an exciting challenge. I look forward to supporting the customer services team while aligning our operations more closely. By bringing our teams together and refining our supply processes, we aim to create a more streamlined, efficient organisation that is well-positioned for future growth.”
