JYSK has reached an agreement to take over the JYSK stores and employees in Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia from its current franchise partner. The agreement will bring the three markets into JYSK’s own organisation to support further growth across the region.
JYSK has been present in Kosovo since 2004, North Macedonia since 2008, and Albania since 2015 through a franchise partnership. Today, the three countries have 25 stores in total and have delivered strong development, says the retailer.
“Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia have been successful JYSK markets, and I would like to thank our franchise partner, Fatmir Zymberi, and all the employees for bringing great offers within Scandinavian sleeping and living to customers. We believe there is significant potential to grow the JYSK brand even further by bringing the countries into our own organisation, where we will invest directly in future expansion, our stores and the employees,” says Rami Jensen, president and CEO of JYSK.
The acquisition is in line with JYSK’s ambition to expand in existing markets and get even closer to customers. JYSK plans to build on the strong local organisation already in place where the ambition is to open more stores, strengthen JYSK’s presence and make it even easier for customers in the three countries to find offers within its Scandinavian sleeping and living range.
The acquisition is expected to take effect on 1st January 2027, subject to relevant regulatory approvals. The business will continue to operate as usual.
