Health and wellbeing specialist Mammoth has promoted UK MD Mike Hobson to the role of COO, reflecting an expanded remit across the brand’s global presence.
Following the business’ recent restructure and growth in international markets, Mike’s new role will encompass the company’s entire portfolio across mattress, bed, bedding and seating categories.
Having previously worked for companies such as Steinhoff and Relyon, Mike moved to Mammoth full time in 2023 to oversee the business’ return to form in the UK market, with a revamped flagship Comfort collection and a refined bedding and bed offering.
Over the last 12 months, Mike has also spearheaded the creation of Mammoth’s Centres for Excellence in stores around Britain, as well as leading on the creation of Mammoth’s new Wellness Essentials collection and Ease mobility mattresses, alongside the Performance collection which launches this summer.
Mike says: “I’m delighted to be moving into the role of COO at Mammoth Sit & Sleep. It’s been a whirlwind few months with some important changes taking place in the business and a host of new opportunities that we are nearly ready to share with the trade.
“It’s a testament to Mammoth’s heritage in healthcare, official partnership with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the unique position that we occupy in the market that we’ve been able to forge some incredibly exciting new partnerships. At the forefront of that is our collaboration with Cambridge Sleep Sciences on our ground-breaking new SmartPillow, which is set to hit the market in September.
“Despite a tough trading period in the UK over recent months, I’m thrilled that we are successfully opening new accounts and growing our footprint in the UK with independents coming on board since September’s Bed Show.”
Mammoth CEO John Tuton adds: “Mike has been incredible for the business since he joined us officially in the summer of 2023. His wealth of experience in the sleep and comfort market, passion for innovation and drive to succeed has been invaluable. And I couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds for the business over the coming months and years with Mike in charge of our operations globally.”
