ScS is no longer selling carpet and flooring, either online or in-store, reports Retail Week, which states that the decision was made due to a lack of market share gains in the category – bringing the retailer's offer more into line with that of its new parent company, Italy's Poltronesofa, which solely offers upholstery.
According to the trade journal, the division once accounted for 8% of the retailer's total sales.
ScS has assured customers that all remaining orders and warranties will be fulfilled.
The news comes just after Carpetright filed a notice of intent to appoint administrators on Friday (see related).
