This month sees the launch of the new South West Furniture Manufacturers' Agent and Representatives Federation (SWFMARF) website, an up-to-date hub where details of the group's brands, current members and upcoming meetings can all be accessed.
The site is the creation of Abacus Solutions, led by Neil Barker, with a sizeable team working behind the scenes to populate and maintain it. Neil has a background in furniture retail himself, running a furniture shop which has been in the family for a number of generations.
With an extensive understanding of the furniture world, Neil says his insights have led him to the building of websites specifically tailored to this industry, and that the chance to work with SWFMARF proved too good to resist. Neil was particularly pleased to be joining Andrew Birkett, Maud Laine, Mark Davidson and Sas Haines on the committee, and says it is his firm belief that this website, where reps and agents can promote their products to retailers, is "a great opportunity to further enhance the strength of the industry and the reach of SWFMARF".
"The clean, contemporary-looking site will be regularly updated to include all the information members and retailers could possibly need," says Neil. "When the time comes round for additions or updates, our team will be on hand to tackle any tweaks."
