After a battle with cancer, Andrew Soutar, Tempur's area manager for Scotland and Ireland for the past 19 years, has passed away, the bed brand reports.
"Andrew was a much loved and popular member of the Tempur team and was responsible for establishing Tempur with our retail customers in this region," states the business.
Tempur UK and Ireland MD Tobin James comments: “Andrew was one of our foundation stones in the UK and Ireland and his passing leaves a big hole. I have fond memories of interviewing Andrew in a small meeting room on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow in 2005, and it was a good day when he joined the team.
"Andrew developed fantastic relationships with his retail customers, and he will be greatly missed. This past week has been difficult for many colleagues, but everyone had great stories to share about Andrew and he had a positive impact on everyone that knew him.
“Since his cancer diagnosis at the start of the year I have been amazed by his courage and strength to make the most of every day. He was supported incredibly by his wife Clare and his sons Kevin and Calum.”
Andrew’s funeral will take place at 3pm on Tuesday 3rd December at Linn Crematorium in Glasgow, followed by drinks at Busby Hotel, Busby, G76 8RX. The family has requested no flowers, but donations in Andrew's memory can be made here – a JustGiving site set up by the Tempur UK sales team to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Tempur will match any contribution made.
