NBF introduces enhanced retailer membership tier

The National Bed Federation (NBF) has expanded its Retail Champions Scheme with the launch of a new enhanced benefits package for UK and Irish bed retailers.

Available to businesses that predominantly stock NBF-approved brands, the new fee-paying package builds on the existing free benefits to offer additional support to help bed retailers stand out in a competitive market.

Retail Champions already receive free PoS materials, digital marketing assets, and a listing on the NBF’s consumer website. The new package includes additional tools to support sales, marketing, operations and customer service, such as: access to annual NBF consumer research on bed-buying habits; round-the-clock advice on HR, legal, health & safety and tax matters for UK businesses; discounted City & Guilds training on critical topics; updates and information on product legislation and sustainability initiatives; and a VIP package at the Bed Show.

Simon Williams, NBF head of marketing and membership, says: “Our new enhanced benefits package provides retailers with expert-led tools and services that go beyond the basics – whether that’s guidance on product legislation, insight into consumer trends or practical business support.

“It also strengthens the relationship between retailers and the NBF which can only be of mutual benefit. With annual fees starting at just £250 for small independent retailers, we are confident many will see the value and we look forward to working more closely with them.”

Launched in 2020, the Retail Champions Scheme helps raise consumer awareness of the independent testing NBF members undergo to ensure their products are reputable and meet the highest safety standards.

The new benefits package is available across three pricing tiers, tailored to suit retailers of different sizes, starting from £250 per year for smaller independent retailers. Those interested in learning more or registering for the new package can visit the NBF website.
